Official Philip K. Dick Website Offline

From the questions and comments I’ve seen, many of the you may have noticed that the Official Philip K. Dick Website, is offline and all that is displayed is:

I don’t know what happened to the site. Because of my experience, I have some facts about the situation. The site went offline sometime at the end sometime between June 23, 2013 and July 28, 2013 (*/ The domain name hasn’t expired ( I would guess that the message is coming either from a hosting services servers or a content management system, but at this point I haven’t investigated that avenue very much.

What I have been working on is capturing as much of the old site as I can to either archive it here (if allowed) or for my own personal use. What happens to the site is entirely up to Electric Shepherd Productions LLC. I have reached out to my contacts within the organization to offer help about 1-2 weeks ago and haven’t had a response. I strongly feel that the domain needs to be active or at least have some web presence. That domain is the one that used to drive the most traffic in (besides Wikipedia and This site is now 3rd when I search for “Philip K. Dick” so at least there is some location that can attract fans or new explorers to learn about Philip K. Dick.

Meanwhile, here is a screen capture from the old(?)

  1. In case it is helpfult to you I’ve copied and pasted the information from an ID Serve query:

    Initiating server query …
Looking up IP address for domain:
The IP address for the domain is:
Connecting to the server on standard HTTP port: 80
[Connected] Requesting the server’s default page.
The server returned the following response headers:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Fri, 06 Sep 2013 20:59:48 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.2.22 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.22 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5
    Last-Modified: Sun, 14 Jul 2013 01:22:14 GMT

    Accept-Ranges: bytes
    Content-Length: 963
    Connection: close
    Content-Type: text/html
    Query complete.

Perhaps the site is offline or whatever for redesign, revisions, rewriting history or some change(s) along those lines.

  2. Still down 🙁
    Any update?
Also the Electric Shepherd Productions website is blank. Has it ever been different? I really hope they don’t have any problem…

  3. I just noticed that the Electric Shepherd Productions website is down(?) and showing the installation page for a content management software. I’m not sure what wheels are turning in the background and who’s turning them. If I find something out, I will let everyone know.

  4. …still down and also seems to be down or rather taken over by something else… very strange. Or maybe they just don’t care about “the net” at all. Which makes sense.
I guess one should not care about them too much.

  5. I can’t believe this. I know the site, which was a very good one, was run by Phil’s children. With all the money the estate brings in, now with an upcoming prime time TV series(Minority Report) one would think there would be enough to keep up a friggin’ website. Hell all you have to do is hire an administrator to manage it. Doesn’t cost much at all. Very puzzling and sad if you ask me. This man is one of the greatest writer of the 20th century and he doesn’t have a website? Strange…

  6. Any body who is a follower of Mr.Dick’s prophetic work could probably guess why this site is gone. It is best not to ask too many questions or you might be the next one to disappear. Read his books and don’t watch the film knock-offs that claim to be his work. Soon all books will be gone. Hoard them and don’t tell anyone you have them. Go into hiding while you still have a chance. THis is my last transmission to the Terrans.

    Good Luck
