FIRST PUBLICATION
HISTORY:
Another story practically forgotten until the publication of THE COLLECTED STORIES, the manuscript for "The World She Wanted" reached the SMLA on Nov 24, 1952, a few days after that of "The Commuter." It was published in Science Fiction Quarterly in May 1953. The cover and interior illustrate PKDs story and are by Milton Luros.
"The World She Wanted" is a spiritual cousin to Jerome Bixbys "Its A Good Life." A man is swept off his feet by a girl who insists that this is her world and in her world things are the way she wants them to be. But he disagrees; this is his world. A story you dont want to think about too much lest you start thinking about the real world.
