HISTORY:
PKDs first appearance in Fantastic Story Magazine was "The Indefatigable Frog." In this one Zenos paradox is put to the test with uncertain results. It is akin to the two Doc Labyrinth stories ("The Short, Happy Life of The Brown Oxford" and "The Preserving Machine") and with just a slight rechanging of character names one can see it fitting in well with those two stories.
Published in Fantastic Story Magazine in the July 1953 issue, "The Indefatigable Frog" was collected into PKDs first anthology, the English A HANDFUL OF DARKNESS in 1955. Beyond its inclusion in THE COLLECTED STORIES, it appeared in THE ASCENT OF WONDER (Ed. David Hartwell and Kathryn Kramer) from Tor Books in 1994. In this anthology PKD has written an introduction to the story.
